Part of ~lance's adventure in Piniglarism

Yesterday was one of those days you wish you could have more prepared. You know, like the first day of school and you’re the only kid without a trapper keeper.
Yesterday I helped Jonathan move some things to his new home in South Carolina. I filled up my truck with gas and pulled my trailer over to his house to load up. I immediately remembered why I don’t work for a moving company. (Because couches are heavy!) We filled the truck and trailer up with all “the big” stuff and got on the road. We had good conversation for the first 2 hours and then I started realizing that the trailer was swaying just slightly. I thought it was the mattress that we loaded onto the truck. The wind appeared to be whipping in between the box springs and the mattress. We pulled over and tightened the straps and kept going. About 20 minutes later it seemed to be getting worse so we pulled over again. Same song but a different verse. About 15 minutes later the truck began to shake and I knew we had a problem.
When we got out to survey the problem we noticed that the right trailer tire had blown. So (and I’m still not sure how I managed to get out of changing the tire) “we” took that tire off and headed 20 miles up the interstate to the first tire store we could find. The goodyear guy tried to rip me off by making me pay some balancing fee but I managed to say, “I don’t really think I need that service.”
We drove back to pick Jonathan up who just got through telling the cops why he was sitting on the side of the interstate on top of an overpass. We changed the tire and finished the rest of our trip toward S. Carolina. After we turned off the interstate the rain began to pour. (We wouldn’t have gotten wet if we didn’t have to stop for an hour on the side of the road)
On our return trip we decided to stop at Dairy Queen. The only option I have ever gotten from Dairy Queen is the fish sandwich with cheese combo. Guess what? This Dairy Queen didn’t sell that combo. So I had to make another choice. I ended up getting the “Classic,” and a blizzard.
So what did I learn from all of this?
A blizzard makes a bad day great!
